The Amelie opening sequence is very comical, for a very serious matter. The opening sequence of Amelie begins with the narrator, telling the Audience, that so much can happen in a few seconds giving example ending with the sperm, entering an Egg, and causing the birth of Amelie. it then goes on to describe what Amelies mother and father, like to do and they are very alike for example:
-Cleaning out his Toolbox
-Cleaning out her handbag
-And puting it all back in again
Then it explains about how Amelies fish who is suicidal, and everytime the fish tries to comit suicide then Amelie screams her head off, after a while her mother cannot cope and decides that Amelie should let her fish go into the river in paris. Unfortunatley the fish was Amelies best friend so, she had a hard time throwing him away.
Amelies mother decides that to cheer Amelie up she will buy her a camera, Amelie loves the camera and begins taking pictures, the clouds in the sky are shaped like bunny rabbits, etc to show that Amelie is in her own little dreamworld. A car crashes as she is taking pictures and a man across the road tells her, that because she was taking photos it was her fault. Amelie - feeling guilty turns the TV on the news, and thinks that she has caused all disaster. a derail of a train etc.
Soon after Amelie and her mother visit the church of Notre Dame, and light a candle in the hope of another child, but on the way out a woman jumps from the top, and lands on Amelies mother instantly killing her. however it is such a terrible death, it was really quite comical.
